Heidi graduated in 1990 as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the West London Institute of Higher Education. After spending an initial 3 years working in the NHS, Heidi then went into private practice and in 2000 established Healthflex Physiotherapy Clinic in Haslemere, which she helped grow into a leading physiotherapy practice in South Surrey.
Heidi specialises in treating musculo-skeletal conditions, placing importance on both diagnosis and treatment alike, ensuring a sound path to recovery. Having worked in the Surrey/Hampshire area for many years, Heidi maintains strong links with local orthopaedic consultants, should a referral be necessary.
Heidi is a keen sportswoman – she has played hockey since her teenage years, and more recently represented England in the O50s Masters World Cup in Barcelona. This sporting background has developed in Heidi a keen interest in sports injury rehabilitation and injury prevention.
With injury prevention and body conditioning in mind, in 2016, Heidi qualified as a Pilates instructor with the APPI and began offering individual Pilates sessions in addition to her Physiotherapy. Since 2016 she has also been running live Pilates classes, and more recently - due to the Covid19 pandemic - zoom based classes for a large community of enthusiastic participants.
In 2020, Heidi established Wells PhysioFit, her own private physiotherapy practice and Wells Health and Fitness, her complementary Pilates business. The move has given Heidi more time to focus on treating and supporting her clients. She believes that combining her extensive physiotherapy experience with teaching Pilates enables her to provide her clients with a programme of rehabilitation and conditioning that will help reduce aches, pain and injury risk, thus enabling their return to, or prolonging their participation in physical activities.
Wells Health & Fitness also has its own Pilates based Video-on-Demand platform at www.wellshf.com. This video platform allows subscribers to access a wide variety of videos professionally created by Heidi based around Pilates movements. These instructional sessions can be accessed from anywhere and at any time and are designed to fit around a busy life schedule. When not busy working, Heidi enjoys sports such as hockey, running, skiing and cycling – particularly when enjoyed with friends!
